Can you believe that Mother's Day is just around the corner? If you have decided to make this an especially great day for your wife, this might be a year that you're running a bit low on cash. Perhaps you have just started a new job and you won't even have your first pay check before Mother's Day. It could be that you have been laid off from your job and that your finances look bleak. If for whatever reason you are shopping for a Mother's Day gift and you're low on cash, from planning an incredible day to going to a pawn shop, here are some ideas that might help you.
Plan A Special Day
Your heart would probably love to take your wife somewhere like Paris or Rome, right? However, your brain and your wallet are reminding you that this isn't the year to plan a lavish Mother's Day event. Instead, think of being creative as you prepare to show your wife how much you love her all through the day. For example, start the day with a breakfast picnic that you pack yourself. The meal certainly doesn't need to be complicated. In fact, she might get a kick out of you packing something like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or her favorite cereal. The twist is that you bring the nicest dishes and even the fanciest napkins you can find in the house.
Another idea is to go on a scavenger hunt together in a park. Make a list the includes things like, Find a person playing with a dog, Find another couple having a picnic together, and Find a child with a balloon.
Plan A Special Gift
The fact that you're low on money doesn't mean you can't give your wife a nice gift. Have you ever been to a pawn shop before? If you haven't, you're probably in for a big surprise. Has your wife always wanted to learn how to play the guitar? If so, you're more than likely going to find a great one for a great price right in a pawn shop. Are you wanting to give her a piece of jewelry? Again, you will probably find a great selection of things like bracelets, necklaces, and earrings in a pawn shop. People bring them there to get cash for gold, and then they are put up for sale. Another idea is to look for something old, say an old record. You can probably also buy records right at the pawn shop that will delight your wife.
