If your teenaged daughter's birthday is quickly approaching and you would like to treat her on her special day to a day of shopping, entertainment, and dining out, visit an outdoor shopping mall and allow your daughter to pick out each outlet or public venue that she would like to visit. Use the tips below while planning the outing. 

Obtain A Brochure Of The Mall And View Featured Items

Obtain a brochure of the mall so that you can get an idea of what stores are located at the shopping center and view some of the featured items that are currently for sale. If you know that your daughter has been interested in acquiring a new wardrobe or has been eyeing a particular piece of jewelry or designer perfume for a while, determine if any of the stores are selling the items that she desires.

Write a list of the stores and location of each one so that you can refer to it during the shopping trip if your teenager states that she would like to view one of the sale items that she has been regularly talking about. Learn about the arcades, theaters, and restaurants that are in the mall so that you can update your daughter about each of them.

Make A Decision Concerning How Much Will Be Spent

You may wish to make all of your daughter's dreams come true by providing her with countless hours of fun and an endless supply of cash to purchase whatever she desires, but this is not a realistic approach to making the outing special. You must take into consideration your recurring bills so that you do not sell yourself short and find that you do not have enough to pay your creditors.

After looking over your bills, decide how much money can be spent on your daughter and tell your child what the amount is so that she doesn't have any misconceptions on the day of the outing, which could lead to an unexpected outburst or ill feelings toward you during the shopping trip. 

Enjoy Each Other's Company And Make Plans Over Dinner

After a day of shopping and visiting recreational venues, ask your daughter to select a restaurant that she would like to dine at. During dinner, ask your daughter what part of the shopping experience that she liked the best.

If you and your daughter previously discussed holding an informal birthday party at your home, talk about options that you have come up with. Perhaps, your daughter would like to invite some of her friends from school and extended family members to eat ice cream and cake and watch movies or listen to music.
